Our Programs
The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement offers a variety of programs focused on improving various sectors of Native Hawaiian life, including affordable housing, economic development, education, and cultural knowledge. We invite you to explore the following links and learn more about our work, and we hope you will connect with us.
Native Hawaiian Policy Center – Unifying non-governmental organizations and coalitions around solutions for community challenges
Community Development Division – A variety of initiatives to advance the Native Hawaiian community, from green lending to mentoring young leaders
Business and Social Enterprises – CNHA, in conjunction with its sister nonprofit, the Native Hawaiian Economic Alliance (NHEA), is focused on growing the Native Hawaiian small business sector. CNHA and NHEA together own subsidiary business enterprises to create jobs, deliver services, and return net revenues to a social justice mission. They include:
- Hawaiian Homestead Technology, Inc. (HHT) – SBA NHO 8(a) application underway: A job creation and community capacity building initiative of CNHA. The mission of HHT is to create and sustain living wage technology jobs in economically challenged Native Hawaiian communities, and to transfer a plethora of technological and managerial skills to Native Hawaiians and Native Hawaiian Community non-profits.
- TiLeaf Group: A locally-owned Native advocacy and communications firm administered by CNHA to advance the interests of local economies and grow Native business ownership.
- Pueo Group Contracting – SBA NHO 8(a): A federal government contracting firm delivering telecommunications, construction, and information technology services.
- Native Hawaiian Economic Alliance: NHEA's mission supports culture and community through the Hawaiian Way Fund; small business convening; business and policy internships.
