Throw Net Making Class @ Native Books/Nā Mea Hawaiʻi

Join master net maker, Uncle Johnny Yu, at Native Books/Nā Mea Hawaiʻi and learn how to make the basics that will allow you to make an array of nets. These nets include throw nets, crab nets, and even decorations nets. Furthermore, learn the skill of throwing a throw net, so after you are finished making yours, you can bring home some dinner.

Class is free. However, supplies need to be purchased from Native Books/Nā Mea Hawaiʻi and Uncle John. The hiʻa, needle, can be purchased from our store for $4.95. Please bring your own thread. Uncle recommends “Size 3, Crochet Thread”. He also recommends not using white thread, as it may be hard to see.

Please RSVP with Hauʻoli Elarco at hauoli@nameahawaii.com. Seats are limited to 10 students in each class. This is a very in demand class, and you cannot RSVP for more than one class at a time. Please be courteous to other students who have not taken the class and are waiting for a spot.
