16th Annual Native Hawaiian Convention
Sheraton Waikiki Hotel & Resort
Hosted annually since 2001, this national convention is the largest gathering of organizations, policy makers, legislative representatives and federal agencies involved in Native Hawaiian community development. This is a must for cultural practitioners, program staff and individuals or groups that are interested in community development in Hawaii. Over the course of three days, attendees can expect to see policy discussion and development, community networking and outreach, and special presentations from many sectors of community work. The Convention is critically important in setting our policy agenda for the coming year through special caucuses and a Policy Roundtable.
CNHA hosts the Convention to mobilize leadership and community to network and share best practices on a vast array of topics ranging from cultural perpetuation, health and education to housing and economic development to the arts and youth. Along with the great content, the annual event features The Marketplace, a favorite among attendees, where many Native Hawaiian small business and organizations present their products and/or programming. With an eclectic agenda of events, the Annual Native Hawaiian Convention is a “one-stop shop” featuring dynamic speakers, informative presentations, timely policy reports, and culturally relevant forums. We hope to see you there!
