How Strong Home works

Assess your home. A free home energy and resilience assessment identifies the improvements that will save you money and protect your home.
Choose your path. Work with an unbiased client advocate to find out what you qualify for and decide what upgrades you’d like to make to your home with partners you can trust.
Who is it for?
The program is designed to help Hawaiʻi households with low and moderate incomes who are facing higher utility bills and increasing natural disasters. Fill out an interest form and our team will contact you personally to see what level of assistance we can provide.
What support may be available?
- Cut your energy and water bill: a free home assessment and assistance with energy-efficient appliances.
- Power you can count on: options to produce your own energy and have backup power you can rely on during blackouts.
- Protect your home: be ready for more extreme weather with improvements such as hurricane clips and fire hardening.
Is it free?
The Strong Home program combines financial assistance and financing. Everyone gets a free home assessment. Depending on your household information, you may qualify for other free assistance as well. Apply now and the team will walk you through which costs are covered and what parts may require affordable financing through our non-profit community lending program.
