The Kamehameha Schools and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement are pleased to present E OLAEmpowering ‘Ōiwi Leadership Award. As kānaka ‘ōiwi, we are vibrant and diverse people who have carved our way in this world though generations if innovation and resiliency.

From Haʻehaʻe to Lehua, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement is partnering with Kamehameha Schools to elevate and support the development of our emerging ʻōiwi leaders in our community through the Empowering ʻŌiwi Leadership Award.

Recognizing Ōiwi Leaders

Although we each hold a different set of skills, knowledge, and talents, we are all connected through a kuleana placed forth by our kūpuna, to mālama and move our people forward. From Haʻehaʻe to Lehua, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement is partnering with Kamehameha Schools to elevate and support the development of our emerging ʻōiwi leaders in our community through the Empowering ʻŌiwi Leadership Award (E OLA).

This unique recognition will be given to Native Hawaiians who exemplify leadership qualities and are engaged in their community. The recipient of this recognition will also be given a monetary award to help elevate their work.

Interested in nominating an ‘ōiwi leader?

Requirements

  • Nominated by a community leader
  • Native Hawaiian
  • Provide periodic updates into their development and use of funding for a look book
  • Agree to follow-up surveys or discussions regarding E OLA
  • Open to all ages

On this form, please nominate an existing or emerging Native Hawaiian leader whom you feel exemplifies qualities of leadership and deserves recognition.
